A Fund in Memory of Julie Morris z"l
On June 7, 2023, what would have been Julie's 80th birthday, Julie's family and friends contributed $265,000 to establish the Julie Morris Ner Tamid Fund at the Hadassah Foundation. Each year, the fund underwrites a grant to an early stage organization that embodies Julie’s endless love, unyielding dedication, and respect for all people. The fund remains open for contributions to continue to be made from those who wish to donate in Julie’s memory. The Julie Morris Ner Tamid Fund has underwritten grants to organizations that include:
- Friendship League of Culture and Sports, which empowers women and girls from diverse cultural, ethnic, and religious communities in Israel by engaging them in the highly participatory game of catchball.
- ProWoman, which engages 600 women college students and 4,000 alumnae throughout Israel, in leadership programs, professional workshops, and mentoring each year.
Because of the support of the Morris Family and others, the fund has also provided support to Association of Rape Crisis Centers in Israel, for coordinating and ensuring trauma-informed services of those who experienced sexual violence and trauma on October 7th and in its aftermath.
